CASE ALTE - CampoReale

Although the Case Alte estate was founded in 2010, its owners, the Vaccaro family, have been making wine in Sicily for over 50-years. Historically, the family made wine and sold it locally to taverns in the surrounding area. After being told, time and time again, that their wine was truly exceptional, and as destiny would have it Case Alte was born.

Located in the hills of Camporeale, in the region of Palerrmo, the estate currently owns 8 hectares of land and produces a minuscule 3,000 cases (18,000 bottles) annually. This boutique winery produces four different monovarietal wines: Grillo, Cataratto, Nero D’Avola and Syrah. The winery’s whites are chiseled and mineral with a bright acidity that is rarely found in Southern Italy. Its reds are elegant and packed with ripe red fruit flavours. True expressions of Sicily’s underrated winemaking potential.

At 29 years of age, and head of the Case Alte estate, Giuseppe is one of the youngest and most dynamic winemakers in all of Sicily. They say Sicilians are a very proud people, and one can truly feel the passion Giuseppe shares for his background, not only through the taste of his wines, but through the warmth of his personality.

All grapes are hand harvested and de-stemmed by hand. As true believers in sustainable agriculture, no fertilizers or pesticides are used in its vineyards and this all of Case Alte’s wines are certified organic.

They say we eat with our eyes first. It’s not unsafe to say the same is true for wine. From the first glance at the uniquely shaped bottles and their beautiful labels, one is immediately drawn to Case Alte. What follows next is a true unique drinking experience.

We are truly honoured to be the exclusive importers of Case Alte in Quebec.
